Lisa Ono, a pioneer of Japan’s bossa nova who this year marks the 30th anniversary of her album debut, takes the stage. In 1989 she released her debut album, “Katopiri.” Her 1999 album “Dream” sold over 200,000 copies and became a hit, and to date she has won the Japan Gold Disk Award in the Jazz category four times. She has also built close ties with the Godfather of Bossa Nova, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and with João Gilberto, who recently passed away, continuing to perform worldwide. This time, the performance features a special lineup that adds wind instruments such as saxophones and flutes. In Billboard Live’s past performances, her music has soothed the club’s atmosphere, and this autumn we look forward to fully enjoying her musical world once again.
