Ezra Collective, a standout band leading the thriving UK jazz scene, makes their debut. All members come from Tomorrow’s Warriors, the British music-education institution that has produced a wealth of diverse talent, and keyboardist Joe Armon-Jones, who came to Japan in June 2019 for a performance at Billboard Live Tokyo, is also a member. The band has an unusual career, having served as the backing band for New York legend Pharoahe Monch, and embodies a sound that blends jazz with Afrobeat, reggae, and Latin genres. After releasing consecutive EPs in 2016 and 2017 to establish themselves, they issued their long-awaited first album You Can’t Steal My Joy in 2019.
