Chihiro Yamanaka, a pianist at the forefront of contemporary jazz, performs on stage in a trio.

She graduated top of her class from the Berklee College of Music in the United States in 2001 and debuted with "Living Without Friday."

Since then, she has released a string of albums that have topped the jazz charts.

Her latest release, "Rosa," is a triple-anniversary edition commemorating Beethoven's 250th birthday, Charlie Parker's 100th birthday, and the 15th anniversary of Chihiro Yamanaka's debut.

It is packed with exquisite classical gems, jazz standards, and new originals—plenty of highlights to listen for.
