Not only active as a solo artist, pianist Tetsu Shioya continues to be widely active through collaborations with many artists and in diverse roles as a composer, arranger, and producer. Ayako Ikeda, a singer-songwriter who crafts lyrics and melodies that honor the resonance of the Japanese language and whose crystal-clear vocal timbre weaves the sounds of the heart, will present a duo performance. Watch what kind of chemistry the two, who have linked their worlds—through Ikeda’s performances at the Yakushima Forest Festival (a music festival she founded) and their co-creation of the song “Letter to Tomorrow,” which Ikeda provided to Aoi Teshima and became a drama theme song—will reveal on stage.
