Japan’s leading world-renowned jazz trumpeter Kosei Hino will return to the Billboard Live stage for the first time in four years. He began playing the trumpet at age nine, and after his debut he drew attention with the Hinoteru Boom, going on to be active and popular in many areas beyond jazz. Even after moving his base of activities to New York in 1975, he has continued energetically performing with numerous musicians both in Japan and abroad, and has earned numerous prestigious awards, including the Purple Ribbon Medal and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette. He is a truly world-class jazz trumpeter, boasting a one-of-a-kind originality and a high level of artistry. This precious stage, where stalwarts of Japan’s jazz world and the currently highly acclaimed players gather, is absolutely not to be missed.
