In “菊地成孔とペペトルメントアスカラール,” a duo set by Kikuchi and Masaki Hayashi, who have performed together for ten years, will be joined on bass by twenty-something newcomer Yuka Konishi. It will be a completely improvised and standard-repertoire half-and-half, delivering an acoustic, tranquil collaboration. The sound will be finely honed, yet ecological and relaxed, offering a minimalist sonic image different from Kikuchi’s usual.

＜Comment＞

We will offer a set in which you can enjoy the concept of the album 花と水 (Hana to Mizu) — improvised performance with Japanese-style focus akin to tea ceremony, flower arrangement, and haiku — as the number of performers increases from one to two to three.

Given these times, I think both performers and audience should nurture a fountain of calm and healing in their hearts. Please relax and enjoy the flowers we arrange on stage, the tea we brew, and the songs we chant.
