Sadao Watanabe's 70th Anniversary Concert
Sadao Watanabe Orchestra
Salute to Duke Ellington
Salute to Duke Ellington / Sadao Watanabe Orchestra
Overview
Sadao Watanabe, one of Japan’s leading saxophonists, celebrated the 70th anniversary of his musical career in 2021. He will perform a memorable Ellington number that was also featured by the rehearsal band from his Berklee College of Music days, where he studied jazz, with his 17-piece big band, the Sadao Watanabe Orchestra. Leading his own big band, formed in 1995 with Japan’s top players whom Watanabe trusts, to tackle Ellington’s popular tunes—the first time in 26 years since the band’s debut—this lavish Christmas concert to close the anniversary year is a must-see for all music fans!
