A one-of-a-kind yet genuinely sophisticated blend of pop, SALT&SUGAR (Salt and Sugar), the super-unit formed by Tetsu Shioya and Takeshi Sato, is set to perform at Billboard Live! After serving as the pianist for Orquesta de la Luz, Tetsu Shioya has pursued a wide range of activities including the SALT BAND and the Tetsu Shioya Trio; and Sato, renowned for his broad musical range and solid vocal ability, helped form SALT&SUGAR in 1996. In 2009, they released two albums simultaneously—their first original album in 13 years and a live album—whose music blended an authentic world with a pop flavor in an innovative way and drew significant attention. The blissful moment when Shioya’s jazz/classical-based music beautifully overlaps with Sato’s rock/pop-based music is highly anticipated.
