Overview
Shishido Kavka, who burst onto the scene in a drum-vocal style and has since continued to showcase a wide range of talents—from releasing various sounds to working as a model and actress—introduces el tempo (El Tempo), a project that uses more than 100 hand signs as a conductor to direct the improvised performances of a percussion-centered band. Argentine percussionist/producer Santiago Vazquez devised the hand-sign-based performance, and she learned it on site; together with top artists, they express one-of-a-kind rhythms. With memories of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics closing ceremony performance still fresh, we invite you to experience this rare moment when a powerful, gripping sound is born.
