On April 3 and 4 of last year, Hirotaka Izumi stood on stage as a member of THE SQUARE Reunion. Three weeks later... on April 26, 2021, he passed away suddenly. The shock to the members was immeasurable, and thereafter performances as THE SQUARE Reunion seemed to be sealed away. However, last August, Masayoshi Ando, who had left T-SQUARE, and with the full consensus of the members, decided to hold the “Hirotaka Izumi Memorial” concert at the time of his first anniversary. This time, the main program is planned to be entirely compositions by Hirotaka Izumi. On this first anniversary, with the hope of honoring him, praising his lifelong achievements, and providing an opportunity to reevaluate his works, we hope you will enjoy the beauty of the pieces he left behind. Last year, THE SQUARE Reunion brought together the best lineup of members who stood on the same stage as Izumi. Those gem-like masterpieces will not fade; going forward, they will continue to be celebrated and connected to the artists who carry on his legacy. THE SQUARE’s history will not end.
