As a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, she has been energetically releasing work on labels both in Japan and abroad, while also producing music for films, theater, and exhibitions, continuing to demonstrate her versatile talents. Eiko Ishibashi makes her first appearance at Billboard Live Osaka with a six-piece band featuring a formidable lineup. Last year, her soundtrack for Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s film Drive My Car drew wide attention, and her solo album For McCoy, released by an overseas label, has also received high praise. This time, including colleagues who can be described as her allies—Jim O’Rourke, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, and others who participated in the recordings for both works—the setlist will include pieces from both projects. With an imaginative sound world that encompasses elements of alternative rock, jazz, and ambient, she invites you to thoroughly enjoy this experimental yet cinematic universe.
