Jazz pianist Junko Onishi, who exerts an overwhelming presence on the scene, appears at Billboard Live Osaka with her long‑awaited new quartet project Grand Voyage, following last year’s well‑received release. She debuted in 1993 with the album WOW. Since then, her New York performances have been widely acclaimed, earning her enduring, immense support. She will perform in a special quartet with Japan’s top talents Takashi Sugawa (b), Gen Ogami (per), and Sota Kira (ds). Prepare to be truly swept away by a performance that is powerful yet supple, with tight ensemble and thrilling drive.
