Machiko Watanabe, a singer whose commanding vocal power lets her master a wide range of songs, makes a comeback to the Billboard Live Osaka stage! Since debuting in 1977 with the single "Mayoi Michi," she has solidified her status as a powerhouse singer and songwriter with numerous hits that remain fixtures in Japan’s pop scene, including "Kamome ga Tonda Hi" and "Blue." Her album "Ashita e" (To Tomorrow), which features a 2020 self-cover of the famous song used in a cosmetics commercial, "Kuchibiru yo, Atsuku Kimi wo Katar e," has generated buzz, and a concert bearing that title was released on CD last year. The momentum of her activities shows no signs of slowing as she approaches her 45th debut anniversary this autumn.
