In 1981, Miki Asakura debuted as an urban-fashion beauty singer with the single “Misty Twilight,” and went on to record huge hits with the theme songs for popular dramas—the “What a Feeling (Flashdance)” and “HERO.” She will appear at Billboard Live in her 40th debut anniversary memorial year. Five years ago she made a miraculous comeback from breast cancer and has become more positive than ever, continuing to enthusiastically pursue her activities. To celebrate her 40th debut anniversary, guest artists who participated in the memorial album recordings—Mayo Shono with “Tonde Istanbul” (Fly to Istanbul), Sawada Tomoko with “Aitai,” and Akemi Ishii with “Cha-Cha-Cha” (Yokohama only)—will add flair to the stage.
