The Roots, the legendary hip-hop group from Philadelphia, will celebrate Billboard Live’s 15th anniversary with a long-awaited Japan visit. Formed around MC Black Thought and drummer Questlove, they have, since their indie-release debut 'Organix' in 1993, been devoted to live instrumentation, earning widespread praise for their inventive instrumental performances, thoughtful and intelligent lyrics, and breathtaking live shows. They have absorbed a wide range of genres—from freestyle jazz to hard rock and electro—and have earned six Grammy nominations. In recent years, they’ve also served as the house band on a popular American TV show, becoming a household name across the United States. Their premium tour, continuing to influence the scene, is a must-see for all music fans.
