A world-class guitarist and one of the world’s premier players, Al Di Meola continues to captivate listeners with complex rhythms, syncopation, and lyrical, sophisticated melodies, returning to Billboard Live. In the 1970s, he joined Chick Corea’s legendary fusion group Return to Forever. Since then, he has woven Latin, flamenco, tango, and Middle Eastern elements into his fusion, and the master Di Meola continues to deepen his artistry. In 2017, he staged a 40th-anniversary tour of the career-defining masterpiece “Elegant Gypsy.” In 2020, carrying the album “Opus” to color a new chapter in his life, he came to Japan on the “Past Present Future Tour” to celebrate 45 years of his musical activity, captivating the audience.
