Shuya Okino, who is a DJ and also a composer for Kyoto Jazz Massive, launched the project Kyoto Jazz Sextet with a concept of expressing contemporary jazz through fully live performance and analog recording. They will hold an anniversary concert to celebrate The Room’s 30th anniversary.

Since their debut in 2015, Kyoto Jazz Sextet has been active with a variety of missions, including the fusion of jazz and club music. In April 2022, they released a new work, SUCCESSION, featuring the premier Japanese jazz drummer Iwao Moriyama, drawing attention as a cross-generational collaboration. In October of the same year, a show at Billboard Live Tokyo drew buzz; this concert will feature Iwao Moriyama and Midorin from SOIL & “PIMP” SESSIONS. Furthermore, for the Yokohama performance, Naruyoshi Kikuchi will join, marking their first collaboration since the debut album MISSION. Kyoto Jazz Sextet, which has evolved with every live performance and delivered high-energy, intense shows, is set to deliver a premium stage with a special lineup, and expectations are high.
