Charity project “PLAYING FOR CHANGE” is holding a special live show featuring the guitar legend Char, who has long participated in this project. The project, which began in 2002, has artists from around the world singing the same songs, delivering the sound and visuals to express a sense of global connectivity that transcends borders, races, cultures, and religions, and has continued to pursue a variety of activities to this day. This time, Char—who debuted in 1976 with “Navy Blue” and whose works include “Smoky,” “Kizetsu suru hodo nayamashii,” and “Torougyushi”—will showcase his mature playing. Last year, he drew attention for taking part in the charity song “A Dated Rock’n’Roll Band,” released digitally by Keisuke Kuwata, alongside Motoharu Sano, Seira Sera, and Gorō Noguchi. Additionally, the Osaka performance has confirmed guest appearances by acoustic guitarist Kotaro Oshio. Even after celebrating his 45th anniversary since debut, this is a performer who continues to profoundly influence Japan’s music history—enjoy this exciting new stage.
