Overview
Minami Yoshitaka, a pioneer of Japan’s city pop who is celebrating his 50th debut anniversary this year, will take the stage at Billboard Live in the spring. He debuted in 1973 with the album 『摩天楼のヒロイン』, produced by Takashi Matsumoto, and his urbane sound—featured in songs such as “Monroe Walk” and “Make It a Slow Boogie”—has had a profound influence on the music scene. In recent years, besides his vigorous live activity, a collaborative album with Kiyotaka Sugiyama has also drawn attention. From a 50-year career, look forward to a mature performance as he generously presents timeless classics, both old and new, without fading.
