Based in Los Angeles and active worldwide, Keiko Matsui, the star pianist of the contemporary jazz world, makes her Billboard Live debut. She began playing piano at age five and made her U.S. debut in 1987. She has appeared as a special guest at Miles Davis’s concerts and has also performed with Patti Austin, Chaka Khan, and Philip Bailey. Her 2001 release Deep Blue became the first by a Japanese artist to top Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz chart, and she has received numerous other awards.
