Rising star with a unique talent, the turbanned, trademark look of solo musician Maharajan makes his debut. Although completely unknown at first, his high musicality and humor-filled lyrics drew attention, and in March 2021 he made his major debut with 『セーラ☆ムン太郎』. His appearances on music programs and the popular YouTube channel “THE FIRST TAKE” generated a strong reaction, and the major‑debut CD released in July of the same year, 『僕のスピな☆ムン太郎』, won Tower Records’ <タワレコメンアワード2021> “Artist of the Year 2021” award. He was also nominated for the 14th CD Shop Award 2022. In July 2022 he released his second album 『正気じゃいられない』. After his major debut, his first-ever solo concert at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA was a great success. His first nationwide solo tour, “Dream,” visiting five cities nationwide, and his sold-out solo show at 日比谷野外大音楽堂 on Saturday, May 27, 2023, also sold out. The cynical lyrics paired with a refined funk sound make for a live show that’s addictive—definitely a must-see.
