Smoky yet mellow in tone, José James—a vocalist whose unique sensibility continually updates the jazz scene—will perform a premium live stage at Billboard Live, presenting a tribute to the representative songs of contemporary neo-soul singer Erykah Badu as heard on the tribute album On & On: Jose James Sings Badu.

Since debuting in 2008 with the album The Dreamer, he has continually evolved his musicality, and in 2018 he released a tribute to the legendary R&B singer-songwriter Bill Withers, Lean On Me. José James is renowned for creating works that pay homage to artists who have influenced him while offering new interpretations from his own artist’s perspective and love of music. With his wide-ranging projects, how will he revive on stage not only his own songs but also the beloved classics of Erykah Badu? We are filled with anticipation.
