Last year, making his debut at Billboard Live Osaka with an astonishing performance, he returns to Osaka with his New York trio featuring Danton Boller (bass) and Jerome Jennings (drums)!

He has been active as a musician since he was 18 while studying at Tokyo University of the Arts, and moved to New York in 2008. Loved by jazz legends such as Hank Jones and Jimmy Cobb, he became the first Japanese—and the last regular member—of the Roy Hargrove Quintet. In September 2020, in New York during the COVID-19 pandemic, he was a victim of an Asian hate crime and sustained serious injuries, but with an indomitable spirit and strenuous rehabilitation he made a remarkable comeback. His triumphant comeback album Get My Mojo Back moved and inspired people around the world, and won the Best Original Work award in the Popular category at the 35th Music PEN Club Music Awards in 2022. This time, bringing his latest work I Am, Because You Are, and performing with the recording lineup of the NY trio, it will be a long-awaited Osaka performance. The deep trust binding this regular trio gives a unity, with vibrant rhythms, melodies, and beautiful tones that will captivate everyone's heart.
