Overview
Masayoshi Takanaka, the top guitarist who rose to fame as a member of the legendary rock band Sadistic Mika Band and who’s counted among the key figures of the 1980s fusion boom, returns to the Billboard Live stage! In 1971 he made his professional debut after being invited by Hiro Tsunoda and the late Shigeru Naruke, and in 1976 he debuted as a solo artist with the album SEYCHELLES. He left a mark on Japan’s instrumental music history with the landmark work “Rainbow Legend,” and with his distinctive phrasing and memorable melodic sense he sparked the “TAKANAKA Boom.” Now you can experience that TAKANAKA up close — a dream stage everyone longs for — once again at Billboard Live. Enjoy Masayoshi Takanaka’s energetic guitar playing in the club setting as he reaches his 70th birthday.
