Japan's premier guitarist Yuji Toriyama formed the crossover group PYRAMID with his close ally, drummer Akira Jinbo, and pianist Hirotaka Izumi. The three have been bandmates since high school and, as composers, producers, and musicians, have been at the forefront of the scene since the 1980s. Formed in 2003, the group continued with just the two after Izumi's sudden passing in 2021. In 2022 they released the album PYRAMID 5, featuring illustrious guests such as Miho Fukuhara, Kan Sano, and mabanua, and in 2023 they have been actively engaged with vinyl releases and free live streams—please thoroughly enjoy their latest band-set performance by the two of them.
