Overview
An essential figure in the LA scene that connects jazz and beat music, pianist/producer Kiefer takes the stage with his latest album. Having studied piano since childhood, he built a solid foundation as a jazz pianist in the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Jazz Department. Meanwhile, he began beat-making in his early teens, and a chance encounter with J Dilla’s music sparked his immersion in beat-making. He forged a sound that blends jazz piano with LA’s distinct beat culture, breaking into the music scene. In 2017, he released his debut album, "Kickinit Alone," and the following year signed with Stones Throw, a leading indie label based in LA. Not only through his own work, but also as a producer, he has achieved notable success, including producing tracks on Anderson .Paak’s 2020 Grammy-winning album "Ventura" and collaborating with Drake and Kaytranada. With his new album "It’s Ok, B U" released in September 2023, this Japan tour presents a performance by Kiefer, who has become an indispensable presence in discussing contemporary jazz/beat music. Don’t miss his latest stage.
