Tower of Power, the Bay Area-born iconic funk/soul band and pioneers who have carried on touring without a break since forming in 1968, will take the stage at Billboard Live for the first time in about five years. Formed in Oakland, California, led by Emilio Castillo and Stephen “Doc” Kupka, they swept the scene in the 1970s with hits such as “So Very Hard To Go” and “You’re Still A Young Man,” and through contributions to works by Aerosmith, Elton John, and Little Feat. In recent years, they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2018 and released the album Soul Side of Town, their first new material in 15 years. Since then, the band has continued to thrill audiences worldwide, celebrating a brilliant 55-year career with world tours and the holiday EP “It’s Christmas.” The future of Tower of Power remains vigorous and dynamic, and they will deliver a show that proves to fans around the world who crave the band’s groove.
