Mika Stoltzman, a marimba player born in Amakusa, Kumamoto Prefecture, who has earned praise from numerous artists including Chick Corea and Steve Reich. Her meeting with drummer Steve Gadd gave birth to the “Mikarimba,” which has launched a Billboard Live Tour. Mika has studied with the percussion group Nexus since 1994. After performing in Toronto, she based herself in New York and studied jazz technique with Mike Mainieri. This lineup, in addition to her, brings in the leading figure of the classical world (clarinetist) Richard Stoltzman, Eddie Gómez, and Tetsu Shioya, forming the strongest lineup in the project’s history. We look forward to savoring a one-night-only premium Mikarimba experience that transcends genre boundaries.
