Kazuki Kato, the so-called “maverick of the musical world” and winner of the 46th Kikuta Kazuo Theatre Award’s “Theatre Award,” will hold his first Billboard Live birthday concert to celebrate turning 40!

He first came to prominence in 2005 in the musical The Prince of Tennis, a gateway for young talent. Since his CD debut the following year, he has been active not only as an actor in dramas, films, and stage productions and as a voice actor, but also as a solo artist with music releases, a Nippon Budokan solo concert, and nationwide tours.

For this anniversary show, which falls on Oct 7 as he turns 40, he will be joined by rotating guests from the “1984 generation”—voice actor Toshiyuki Toyonaga, former Takarazuka top star and actress Manato Asaka, and actor Kenta Kamakari, who know Kazuki well from The Prince of Tennis—creating a special stage that spans his own songs, J-POP, and musical numbers.
