Yuji Toriyama, one of Japan’s premier guitarists, formed the group PYRAMID with his longtime ally, drummer Akira Jinbo, and pianist Hirotaka Izumi. The trio, bandmates since high school and each active as a composer/producer/musician on the scene since the 1980s, continued the group after Izumi’s sudden passing in 2021. Now they are working on an album that embodies a “Brand-New Instrumental” updated for the present era. They will stage the second live edition of the project “PYRAMID CITY JAM” at Billboard Live.
