Lecca began her career as a singer in 2000, and after graduating from university in 2002, she spent six months overseas on what she called a musha shugyō, gaining on-site experience as an artist and honing a rugged sense of live performance. Rooted in dancehall and hip-hop, she is a reggae DJ goddess with a compelling, hard-hitting pop sensibility, back on stage in Yokohama and Osaka for the first time in three years. As she approaches the 20th anniversary of her major debut in 2026, she released last year the album ‘LIBERTY ERA’—her first in about seven years—and completed a Zepp tour, continuing to stay vigorously active. Her spectacular, genre-defying performances are not to be missed.
