Billboard Live presents Piano Duo Session in Osaka Jun Shibata × Satoshi Takebe
Overview
The “Piano Duo Session” series, in which music producer Satoshi Takebe presents special session stages with artists, is holding its first regional performance. This regional show features singer‑songwriter Jun Shibata, who achieved great success with last year’s Tokyo performance. Since debuting in 2001 with “Boku no Mikata,” she has continued her musical activities without interruption, releasing hits such as “Gekkōyoku” and “HIROMI.” In addition, she has been active in various fields including songwriting, narration, radio hosting, and theater; after the pandemic, while continuing her activities, she attended a vocational school and passed the 47th National Examination for Emergency Medical Technicians in 2024. Last year, the original full album produced by Satoshi Takebe, The Ghost in Room 901, her first in four years, drew attention. Takebe, who will share the stage with her, has worked as a keyboardist and arranger for numerous artists and has served as music director for Yumi Matsutoya’s concert tours since 1983. He has produced Hitoto Yo, Miki Imai, Ken Hirai, JUJU, and also contributed to the music for Studio Ghibli’s Kokuriko-zaka Kara (From Up on Poppy Hill). Recently, he has been expanding his range by handling the music for the film THE FIRST SLAM DUNK and serving as music director for Yuzuru Hanyu ICE STORY 2023 “GIFT,” among other activities. Don’t miss the stage woven by these two talents—it's a performance you won’t be able to take your eyes off for a moment.
