Overview
Sadao Watanabe, who went to Brazil alone in the 1960s and, through recordings with local musicians, introduced Brazilian music to Japan. His achievements were recognized by the Brazilian government as well, and he was awarded the National Order of Rio Branco, the highest decoration. Reviving the Brazilian music he has long cherished, he performs his original songs alongside famed bossa nova and samba tunes with a band he has a close rapport with.
