Saxophonist Sadao Watanabe, who embodies the idea of remaining active throughout his life, will take the stage at Billboard Live Osaka at year’s end, leading a big band. The rhythm section features Russell Ferrante of the Yellowjackets on piano, the dependable Ben Williams on bass, and Japan’s rising jazz talent Kazunori Takemura on drums. The big band—comprising 13 horn players led by Yoichi Murata (trombone), one of Japan’s leading horn players—will make its Billboard Live debut in three years.
