Shigeru Izumiya, a musician, festival founder, and actor who remains active across a wide range of fields with powerful energy, will launch a Billboard Live Tour, carrying his latest album Shin Self-Covers: Monster, following the well-received Tokyo performance last year.

Since debuting in 1971 with Izumiya Shigeru Tōjō, the title track of the next year’s album Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter became a hit, and he soon rose to stardom in the folk world. In 1975, together with Takuro Yoshida, Hitoshi Komuro, and Yōsui Inoue, he co-founded For Life Records, and gradually began to leverage his individuality to expand into acting. Since then, in addition to music and acting, he has shown talent in the arts and has remained active across a wide range of fields. This February, he is set to release his first album in six years, Shin Self-Covers: Monster, which includes two new songs and six self-covers, for a total of nine tracks, including Takuro Yoshida’s debut song “Poem of an Image.”
