Toshio Kamei, who has built a substantial career in the Japanese music scene for more than 40 years as a singer, composer, and music producer, makes another appearance at Billboard Live Osaka. This concert is shaped around the concept behind the piece titled “Journey to the Fifty-Seven Stations of the Tokaido,” which can be seen as a derivative of “Earth’s Honey” that was unveiled at the previous release-anniversary performance, and is inspired by Hiroshige’s ukiyo-e of the Tokaido—famed for its 53 stations; when added to the four stations of the Kyōkaidō, there are 57 stops in total, each hosting a different human drama. A stage constructed under that concept invites you to immerse yourself in a new musical world.
