Hiroko Taniyama Billboard Live
Taniyama Hiroko
Overview
With a crystal-clear voice and an ethereal, fantastical worldview, singer-songwriter Hiroko Taniyama captivates listeners as she takes the stage at Billboard Live in early summer. Since her debut in 1972, she has been active across a wide range of fields—NHK’s Minna no Uta and Okaasan to Issho, commercial songs, radio hosting, and writing fairy tales and essays. In addition to providing the insert song “Teru no Uta” for the film Tales from Earthsea and contributing songs to the film Kokuriko-zaka Kara, she has also written songs for Yuki Saito, Aoi Tejima, Kaori Mochida (Every Little Thing), and for voice actors Aki Toyosaki, Asami Imai, and Sumire Uesaka, further underscoring her notable work as a writer. In 2025, she will release a self-cover collection—the first in 17 years—titled “Phoenix de Hikigatari ~ The First Self-Cover Album 2 ~.” Additionally, her participation on Kaonashi Hasegawa’s (CreepHyp) solo album is drawing attention. After more than 50 years since her debut, Hiroko Taniyama continues to renew her creative power, and we invite you to savor her present work to the fullest.
