Kosaka Tadashi The Beginning of 2021
Overview
Kosaka Tadashi, who has laid the foundations of Japan’s R&B, gospel, and pop, will take the Billboard Live stage, leading a lineup of Japan’s premier musicians Taiji Satoh, KenKen, Gota Yashiki, and Yuta Saito. He debuted in 1966 with The Floral. After an April Fool’s collaboration with Haruomi Hosono and Takashi Matsumoto, he made his solo debut in 1971. He released numerous masterpieces, including the Japanese-made R&B landmark HORO (1975), recorded with Tin Pan Alley. In August 2017, he was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer. He faced emergency hospitalization and surgery, but gradually returned from around October. In 2018, Billboard Live hosted a full-album recreation of HORO, the iconic 70s rock album that shines in Japan’s music history, drawing great attention. As an icon and a legend who remains at the forefront of the scene, don’t miss this fan‑favorite show where his unique voice will resonate once again.
