Last year, the Japanese funk band FLYING KIDS, celebrating 30 years since their major debut, will take the stage at Billboard Live this autumn. After serving as the program’s first-ever Grand King on TBS’s popular TV show “Heisei Famous TV: Miyake Yuji’s Ikasu Band Tengoku,” they made their major debut in 1990. Since then they racked up smash hits and charged through the scene. They reformed in 2007 and have been energetically active as pioneers of Japanese-language funk. In 2020 they released the full album “And Then We Became Funky.” Now a nine-member force, they are even more dazzling and gaining momentum. Expectations are high for a top-stage where each member’s skills and true strengths are fully on display.
