Charan Po LanTan is a sister duo formed in 2009 by Momo (vocals; younger sister born in the Heisei era) and Koharu (accordion; older sister born in the Showa era), who at the time were a high school student and a street performer, respectively. They blend Balkan music, chansons, and various other genres to create a cosmopolitan, boundary-crossing sound, paired with a circus-like, distinctive world view, and have expanded their activities beyond Japan to overseas as well. In addition to activities as Charan Po LanTan, their work also spans providing songs for films and dramas, acting, commercials, voice acting, illustration, writing, and more. With a new lineup, don’t miss the two as they continue to evolve on an ever-unfolding, standout stage.
