Overview
Brooklyn-based music collective Snarky Puppy’s former member, Hammond organist Corey Henry—rooted in funk and gospel—takes the stage. Raised on church music, he performed on the Apollo Theater stage at age six and was recruited into Kenny Garrett’s band as a teenager, launching his career. In 2016, his solo album The Revival peaked at No. 2 on the US jazz charts, signaling his presence. In 2018, with a line-up of esteemed collaborators, he formed The Funk Apostles and released their debut album Art of Love, updating 70s soul/funk music for the modern era. The album led to collaborations with Lauryn Hill and Vulfpeck. We invite you to experience this highly anticipated performance by a leading figure in today’s vibrant contemporary jazz scene.
