Not only active in their own musical activities, Hirokazu Ogura and Yoshiyuki Sabashi, as a producer and arranger, appear as the guitar duo Yamagen at Billboard Live in early summer. The duo’s rather distinctive group name stems from the fact that the two “play a stringed instrument that is like a ‘mountain.’” Beyond their technical prowess, their rich expressiveness—“singing” with the guitar instead of using words—is their greatest charm. In 2021, they celebrated their 30th anniversary and released their sixth album, TOKYO MUNCH, their first in 17 years. The work, recorded completely remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, was completed through the track-down work of Yoshifumi Iio, who is also known as the recording engineer for Akiko Yano, Taeko Onuki, and Misato Watanabe. This concert will deliver the sound of the three: Yamagen’s two members and Iio. With a combination of a beloved sound and solid technique, they will deliver an exquisite moment you won’t want to miss.
