A solo concert by Kaoru Kurosawa, a member of the Gospellers and a pioneer of vocal groups in the J-POP scene, has been confirmed. The Gospellers were formed from an a cappella circle at Waseda University and made their major debut in 1994. Since then, they have released numerous hits, including “Eien (Towa) ni” and “Hitori.” In 2005, he became the first member to debut solo, and his activities as a solo artist have now entered their 17th year. He has broadened his scope by writing songs for and producing other artists, and in February this year the show of his self-produced, new-generation neo-a cappella group “Nagie Lane” at Billboard Live Yokohama drew wide acclaim.
