The Welsh-born, world-class bassist Pino Palladino, with a 48-year career, and Blake Mills, one of contemporary America’s premier producers and guitarists, will appear together at Billboard Live Tokyo. The two captivated not only jazz fans but a broad audience with their 2021 collaboration, Notes With Attachments. They will be joined by Sam Gendel, the saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist who contributed to the album, and Abe Rounds, the drummer/percussionist who has backed Mills on his solo projects as well as for Andrew Bird and Aimee Mann. The quartet, a peerless dream team, will perform in Japan and present a show that is an extension of Notes With Attachments—a “landscape not yet seen” filled with elements beyond guesswork.
