Kenji Ueda and Kyoko Koizumi’s musical unit, Black Cat Alliance, makes its Billboard Live debut. In 2021, when Koizumi started Spotify Original Podcast “Honto no Koizumi-san,” she invited Ueda, saying, “If we can’t play existing songs, we should create originals!” Thus Black Cat Alliance was formed. The unit’s name comes from the fact that both of them began keeping rescue black cats at around the same time. The theme of their music is “the world seen through the eyes of two black cats,” and on September 29, 2021, “Maneki Neko Day,” they released their debut album, “Un chat noir.” This marks the first time the unit performs live in front of an audience—a premium opportunity. Indulge in refined adult pop with jazz influences and chic, kitschy tracks, in an intimate setting.
