Guitarist Yuji Toriyama, along with his longtime friends—the drummer Akira Jinbo and the pianist Hirotaka Izumi—launched the fusion group PYRAMID, which makes a comeback after three years. The three, bandmates since high school and each active as a composer/producer at the forefront of the scene since the 1980s, formed PYRAMID in 2003. They released four albums, and in 2021, while preparing for their next steps, Izumi suddenly passed away. Toriyama and Jinbo decided to continue, and with guests such as Miho Fukuhara and Kan Sano, they completed the album PYRAMID 5 via crowdfunding. For this performance bearing the PYRAMID 5 title, mabanua, who contributed as a guest on the album, will appear as a guest. Carrying on Izumi’s wishes and with the support of many listeners and artists, PYRAMID 5 was produced, and will be concluded at this live show.
