Eiko Ishibashi Band Set
Eiko Ishibashi
with Jim O’Rourke, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Toshiaki Sudo, Daisuke Fujiwara, Kei Matsumaru & ermhoi
Overview
As a prolific multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Eiko Ishibashi has been energetically releasing works on domestic and international labels while also crafting music for films, theater, and exhibitions to showcase her versatile talents. She will make her Billboard Live Tokyo debut with a seven-piece band lineup featuring a powerhouse group of players. Last year, she drew attention for composing the soundtrack to Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s film Drive My Car, and her solo album For McCoy, released by a foreign label, has also received high praise. For this show, including colleagues who can be called her allies—Jim O’Rourke, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, and others who participated in the recordings for both works—the setlists from both works are planned to be performed. Blending elements of alternative rock, jazz, and ambient, she creates an experimental and cinematic unique sonic world to be thoroughly enjoyed.
