Doran Jones
Overview
Durand Jones, the frontman who leads the contemporary R&B/soul group Durand Jones & The Indications, formed in Bloomington, Indiana in 2012, makes his Billboard Live debut. In 2016, after releasing their debut album Durand Jones & The Indications on Colemine Records, an Ohio soul label, the track “Groovy Babe” was used in a Google commercial, sparking buzz. In March 2019 they released their second album, American Love Call. The album was highly praised by the media, with The Guardian describing it as “timeless soul with no flaws,” and the band established themselves as icons driving the next generation of the soul scene. In July 2021 they released their third album, Private Space. This May, Durand’s first solo album, Wait Until I Get Over, is also scheduled for release, and a record that embodies his love for music and the unique groove gained from the band’s activities is already drawing strong anticipation as a potential best-of. From the start of his career, Durand has been nothing short of a talking point, and his arena-level performances in an intimate club setting are poised to be this year’s highlight.
