Yasuyuki Horigome, who debuted in 1997 as Kirinji’s vocalist/g guitarist and has given the world enduring songs such as “Aliens,” “Sweet Soul,” and “Moegara,” has had a significant influence on Japan’s music scene and is on stage. Since leaving the band in April 2013, he has continued to perform under his solo name, and has released three original albums and two collaborative EPs to date. This year, Horigome has been guesting at Billboard Live performances by Ryusenkei and Asako Toki, but a headlining show at the same venue will be his first there since 2016, excluding streaming-only performances. Across generations, he continues to captivate many listeners and younger artists alike—so witness the latest stage of one of Japan’s most important domestic artists.
