Nick Lowe, a pub rock pioneer who is also known as the producer for The Damned and Elvis Costello, has announced his first Billboard Live Tour in four years. Born in Surrey, England, he debuted as a member of Kippington Lodge, which would later become Brinsley Schwarz. Grounded in roots music such as country and blues, he established a new genre—pub rock—by infusing his own distinctive British pop sensibility into the sound. As a solo artist, he scored hits such as “Lovers,” and as a producer he worked with The Damned, Elvis Costello, the Pretenders, and others, demonstrating his prowess. In the late 1980s, he formed Little Village with Ry Cooder, and since then he has continued to be active in both performing and producing.
